With a fresh new set of daggers, one of our rogues became one of the few in Azeroth that can fly without a mount, at least for 15 seconds at a time.  Congratulations to Moxii for completing Fangs of the Father, a server first.  Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into our guild to help keep it running.  Everyone appreciates it.  Just remember to mail us that 3k gold for glasschewing Hagara 25H!

One set down, two more sets to go!


On a side note, we are still looking for those promised Ferret pets on the guild vendor...  Moxii??

Last night with our healers' fingers bleeding and our DPS weapons blunt, the Old Guard entered the heroic arena by taking down Morchok 25H.  We brought the elemental down in our typical first kill-style over this expansion:  Last pull of the night, enrage timer triggered and two or three left standing.  It might explain why some of our raiders suffer from hypertension.  Well either that or being glued to our seats glass chewing all night!

Over the holiday weeks, the Old Guard managed to keep our scheduled raids running with the help of some friends to fill in the holes.  The drop rate was unusual this past week.

To start the week, two tailoring patterns dropped along with a BoE.  Later in the evening, we found Experiment 12-B in Ultraxion's cache.

When we one-shot Madness the next raid day, the Reins of the Blazing Drake dropped off of Deathwing.

Very odd to see both rare mounts drop in the same week.  Perhaps the result of a lack of normal raid ids being generated on a slow week?  Regardless, congratulations to Aztiren and Kilee for winning the mounts.  Ride them with pride the rest of this expansion.  Even if one of them looks remarkably like...

The Old Guard delivered an early Christmas wish to Azeroth and RPers alike by downing the Grinch who stole Stormwind Park: Deathwing the Destroyer.


Out of the Maelstorm, the Old Guard has emerged victorious from Dragon Soul, the final raid content in this expansion.  This is a victory for every raider that has fought by our side the past year, both past and current members.  The dedication and resilience of our members is what enables us to achieve these victories.

I can only hope that with the celebrations in Stormwind over the death of Deathwing, they were singing Yub Nub for us.
